Philip T. Reeker, Assistant US Secretary of State congratulated Giorgi Gakharia on his reappointment to the position of the Prime Minister of Georgia and expressed hopes for strengthening the existing partnership. The Head of Government of Georgia and Acting Assistant Secretary of State held a phone conversation today.
Giorgi Gakharia thanked Philip Reeker for the US support earmarked within the fiscal year of 2021 in the volume of 132 MLN USD.
Focus of the phone conversation was made on all the key directions of the strategic partnership between the two countries. Special attention was paid to the need of improved cooperation in the area of defence and security. Also, it was noted that cooperation and economic ties need to deepen towards democracy and rule of law.
The Prime Minister of Georgia expressed his gratitude to the USA for the unwavering support demonstrated towards the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia.
The Head of Government of Georgia pledged readiness towards deepening strategic partnership with the USA and successful cooperation with the new Administration.
