Svetitskhovloba is not just a religious holiday - Svetitskhovloba is a holiday of all of Georgia, a state holiday that unites us all, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia stated in Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, where he attended a service on the occasion of Svetitskhovloba.

The head of the government addressed the congregation gathered in the cathedral from the pulpit, congratulating them on the occasion of Svetitskhovloba and noting that unity is of special importance today, when the country is in a time of trial and fighting against the virus.

"First of all, I would like to congratulate every citizen of Georgia on the occasion of Svetitskhovloba.

Svetitskhovloba is not just a religious holiday - Svetitskhovloba is a holiday of all of Georgia, a state holiday that unites us all. This unity is of the greatest importance today, when we are in a time of trial, when we are fighting a battle, and I am certain that we - the citizens of Georgia, the doctors, the Georgian church, everyone - will emerge victorious in this battle together. With this unity we can defeat even the most formidable enemy, such as the virus. With this unity we must look to the future and, of course, with this unity we must congratulate each other on the occasion of Svetitskhovloba. First of all, I would like to congratulate His Holiness on the occasion of Svetitskhovloba and I would like to congratulate every one of you once again. I wish you health, success, and the unification of the country," Giorgi Gakharia stated.

The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia conducted the service in Svetitskhoveli Cathedral together with archpriests. The service was also attended by the President of Georgia, the speaker of the Parliament, and the mayor of Tbilisi.
