June 13 is the day, when the youth served as a role model of unity, solidarity and mutual care for us all. It is an example, which should stay with us and show a light somewhere at the end. It is an example that we also need today, when we face a serious challenge in terms of a serious epidemic. These young people are inspirational trend setters. It was announced by Giorgi Gakharia, Prime Minister of Georgia when delivering a speech at the official launch of the upgraded Mziuri Park today.

Head of Government of Georgia visited the venue together with his family.

As noted by the Prime Minister of Georgia, successful states are formed as a result of a successful response to challenges similar to the one occurring on June 13.

"Today country and city are marking a significant and tragic day. We all remember that we witnessed a natural disaster that shocked us all on June 13, 2015. We also remember that first several minutes were particularly devastating due to the scale and magnitude of the natural calamity. It was absolutely unexpected and led to the loss of 21 lives, while 2 are still believed missing. Hundreds of people experienced significant losses. I wish to note that Zurab Muzashvili - a hero emergency rescue - who saved 8 people from the devastating flooding, but died himself. We should always remember this day, this name and these people. It is a day of greatest pain, but as Georgians tend to get united in the conditions of huge challenges, it is a day when the youth served as a role model of unity, solidarity and mutual care. It is an example, which should stay with us and which should show us a light somewhere at the end. It is an example that we also need today, when we face a serious challenge in terms of a serious epidemic. These young people are inspirational trend setters. June 13 is a day of great pain; however, it is also a day of great hope. It was the generation, which demonstrated sensational mobilization and such high sense of civic responsibility, which nobody expected. These young people organized themselves and did the work, which should have been done by each citizen of this country. That is why I wish to thank them. This is the generation, which should make its statement in a very near future to advance this country and we should have hope in them. Successful response to such challenges, problems and fights that we witnessed on June 13 and still prevail, shape the successful states and successful generations. I am confident that this generation will be the one, which will make its statement in the history of our country. I wish to thank them all. I also wish to express my sadness for the lives lost. I hope that everything that has been done within these 5 years will avail great threats from this city" noted the Prime Minister of Georgia.

Head of Government of Georgia expressed his gratitude to Maya Tskitishvili, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia for the work performed for the rehabilitation of Mziuri Park.

"Tremendous work has been performed. Therefore, I wish to thank EU Ambassador Carl Hartzell for the contribution of the European Union in the rehabilitation of the park and of course the Mayor of Tbilisi, who did all these with style, sense of taste and most importantly superb demonstration of care for the residents of Tbilisi, which are so characteristic of him. I wish to once again pay tribute to our citizens, lives of which have been lost. Let us recall the hero emergency rescue, who saved the lives of 8 people, but sacrificed his own. Once again, I thank the youth, who without anybody urging, stood where they were supposed to be and did what their homeland, their city and their citizens were supposed to need most. Care for each other is the only solution for our successful future" added the Prime Minister of Georgia.

Welcoming speeches were also delivered to the guests at the official launch of the upgraded Mziuri Park by Maya Tskitishvili, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia; Kakha Kaladze, Mayor of Tbilisi; Carl Hartzell, EU Ambassador to Georgia, Resident Representative of the European Investment Bank (EIB) and family members of Nodar Dumbadze.
