Our farmers are given an incentive through state programs to continue or start producing quality products, which will first meet the domestic demand and then get established at the global market by all means to ultimately strengthen the economy. It was announced by Giorgi Gakharia, Prime Minister of Georgia at a meeting with employees of a fruit processing enterprise - Karelis Khili - today.

Head of Government of Georgia noted that the company is a good example of a successful production, as its output is 75 tons of various dry fruit a year, which is sold at domestic and export markets.

According to the Prime Minister of Georgia, Anti-Crisis Plan of the Government of Georgia aims to make sure that people engaged in agriculture keep their jobs irrespective of the crisis, while farmers quickly overcome the disturbances.

Company has built an orchard of peaches on 1 ha of land and plum on 10 ha of land with support of the state program branded as Plant Your Future. It has thus gained access to funding of over 50 000 GEL. Total sales of the enterprise in the last two years have been increased by 65%. Apart from being the first Georgian company that offered dry fruit in fancy packaging, it employs 45 local residents.

Prime Minister of Georgia visited the enterprise together with Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, along with Giorgi Khojevanishvili, State Representative in Shida Kartli.
