Inter-Agency Coordination Council Rules to Set Border Restrictions with Switzerland, Norway and Denmark Also Print Version

Inter-Agency Coordination Council of the Government of Georgia led by Giorgi Gakharia, Prime Minister of Georgia has ruled to set border-crossing restrictions with Switzerland, Norway and Denmark as well.

Individuals travelling from the referred countries should upon arrival:

1. Present an evidence of their lab test for the novel Coronavirus (COVID -19) (specifically the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Lab Test Results) which will be issued by a respective laboratory in the country of departure or a transit country, if travelling through a third country.

2. If and when an individual fails to present the PCR Lab Test Results, s/he should undergo an applicable epidemiologic inspection, followed with a compulsory 14 day-long quarantine procedure in line with the Rules defined by the Ministry of Refugees from Occupied Territories of Georgia, Labor, Health and Social Security of Georgia.

It is worth noting that until present restrictions were set with China, South Korea, Iran, Italy, Germany, France, Spain and Austria.

In addition, according to the decision made by Prime Ministers of three countries, passenger movement will be suspended between Georgia-Azerbaijan and Georgia-Armenia for 10 days starting from March 14, while citizens - if willing- shall be admitted in an uninterrupted manner by the home country at the indicated borders.

Restrictions do not apply to cargo transportation.
