Today, the Interagency Coordination Council on Coronavirus held its regular meeting under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister.

During the meeting, Georgia's Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs Ekaterine Tikaradze reported that the health conditions of the three previously diagnosed persons remain stable, without complications, and that more than 100 people remain under quarantine.

The Interagency Council was briefed on the implementation of recommendations for preventing the spread of novel coronavirus, including disinfection work at various institutions throughout the country and the cancellation of large gatherings in places of public circulation, the postponement of indoor cultural and athletic events among them.

In addition, Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani informed the council that a female Georgian citizen contacted the hotline of the Georgian Embassy in Italy to report a fever and weakness. The Georgian Consulate immediately contacted the Italian Ministry of Health. Consequently, an ambulance was dispatched and the patient was hospitalized on one of Rome's clinics. As it was confirmed today, the patient tested positive for novel coronavirus. She is presently under doctors' supervision and in treatment in Rome. Her health condition is satisfactory. According to the Minister, the Georgian Embassy in the Italian Republic maintains constant contact with the patient, her family, and the clinic's management.

The Interagency Coordination Council, in order to ensure information exchange and coordinated measures, continues regular meeting under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister.

Today's meeting reaffirmed that there is no reason for panic in the country, and the Government is in full control of the situation.
