"World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos is the format, where business leaders and politicians, as well as civil society representatives discuss topics of global significance. Meetings with our colleagues and European partners were important to us. We have been discussing European aspirations of Georgia, problem of occupation and development along the occupation line" stated Giorgi Gakharia, Prime Minister of Georgia when summing-up his visit to Davos today.

In the opinion of the Head of Government of Georgia, country should and will become a fully-fledged member of the European Union, though a lot of homework needs to be done. These were the main topics discussed.

As noted by the Prime Minister of Georgia, specific vision will be presented by the country at the Summit of Eastern Partnership scheduled to take place in 2020. It will be our vision on the future process of EU integration and these were the main topics discussed with Presidents and Prime Ministers of Estonia, Lietuva, Latvia and Croatia.

"Our political partners measure the progress achieved towards democracy in the country. They closely monitor the election process and state that they should be exemplary. This responsibility is absolutely understandable to us. In addition to this we spoke at length about the security context, especially in the Black Sea region. It is the function, which may be performed by Georgia by contributing significantly to the creation of a concept and architecture of European security. This is stated by our partners. They also measure the degree of Georgian integration with NATO and state that results achieved in the cooperation of Georgia and NATO in 2019 are truly impressive" added the Prime Minister of Georgia.

As noted by the Head of Government of Georgia, it is very important that trans-national financial corporations measure the current financial position of Georgia and positively view the degree of our financial sustainability.

According to the Prime Minister of Georgia, discussions were held within the scope of his visit with companies that are interested in Georgia and those that are perceived to be significant for gaining exposure to Georgia.

"Meeting was held with a Vice President of Coca-Cola, who elaborated on the specific investment plans and current projects. Of course, we pledged full support in the implementation of new projects as it is particularly important for job creation. Also, we met officials of the Citibank. We spoke about the sustainability of the financial sector of Georgia and prospects of its future development. We touched upon the reforms that are implemented in the financial sector. It is very important to see how trans-national financial corporations assess the current financial position of Georgia and degree of our financial sustainability" noted the Prime Minister of Georgia.

Head of Government of Georgia also held meetings with large players on the global energy market.

"Renewable energy is trendy nowadays. A lot of proposals are received for joint projects. Georgia is implementing a market liberalization reform in the energy sector, which causes great interest among companies that have great experience and desire to carry out new projects in our country. Swiss chocolate producer Camille Bloch has already selected a land plot of 650 hectares in Georgia for its hazelnut plantations. I hope that all the meetings held within the scope of the visit will lead to further actions and will conclude with tangible results" noted the Prime Minister of Georgia.
