Government of Georgia – Appearance 2019

Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia's Message for the New Year Print Version

2019-12-31

My dear ones,

I wish you a Happy New Year 2020! I wish happiness and success to all of you and to our homeland.

We welcome the New Year with hope and anticipation of beneficial change. May all our wishes-those of all our citizens, the younger and the elder alike-come true!

Above all else, I wish a Happy New Year to our soldiers serving peace and security far away from their homeland.
Also to each Georgian throughout the world.

I wish a Happy New Year to our fellow citizens on either side of the occupation line, those forced to deal with occupation on a daily basis.

I wish a Happy New Year to our Abkhazian and Ossetian brothers and sisters, firmly believing that eventually we will build our common future.

Friends,

The year 2019 has been abundant in events, emotions, and commotions, though we all agree that peace and stability are key to the country's development.

Historically, Georgia has faced considerable challenges. But, with our traditions, dedication, unceasing commitment to freedom, and the wisdom of our nation, we have preserved our unique cultural identity.

And it is with this commitment that we together must work toward the country's future, just the way our ancestors have. All of us-be they doctors, teachers, soldiers, police officers, public servants, entrepreneur, or students-must join forces to overcome challenges. Nobody will do our job for us-we are the ones who must secure a desired future for our children!

I am confident that 2020 will be a successful year in that Georgia, with its traditions and unique cultural identity, will achieve tremendous progress on the path to European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

We will surely take our honorable place in Europe.

2020 will be a year of hope and victory to bring development and peace to our homeland and prosperity to every family!

Once again, Happy New Year! I wish you all health and happiness.

I wish goodness, love, and peace to Georgia!

Happy New Year!
