Together, in our strategic partnership, we must aspire to Europe and do everything for Georgia and Ukraine to become parts of the European political space, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia stated during today's meeting with Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Razumkov.

During the meeting, the Head of Government emphasized the aspirations and challenges of both countries.
"I am honored to be on Ukrainian soil in the rank of Georgia's Prime Minister, so that we may take another step toward bolstering the friendship between our brotherly nations. What binds us together is our past, and so do our common challenges facing our citizens and states, meaning the territorial integrity of our countries. I am confident that together we will take effective and productive steps in this direction. I am happy to see that today, as part of our official visit, Georgia and Ukraine signed an agreement on the creation of a high-level strategic council. That is the format, and the level of strategic relations, that must bring our states and citizens together," the Prime Minister stated.

Giorgi Gakharia also spoke of the successful cooperation at the parliamentary level, and commended the trilateral-format cooperation between the Parliaments of Georgia, Ukraine, and Moldova.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine thanked the Prime Minister of Georgia for his official visit, and emphasized that it is an honor to host Giorgi Gakharia in the Parliament's 9th convocation.

"Our countries are bound in many ways. We have common aspirations and, unfortunately, similar challenges, our fight for territorial integrity. But our relations and our countries' history have proved that we will deal with these challenges duly. I am convinced that we will further develop our relations at the parliamentary and other levels," Dmytro Razumkov said.

The meeting with the Chairman of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada was attended by Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani and the Prime Minister's Foreign Affairs Advisor Irakli Chikovani.
