"Draft State Budget for 2020 has gone through the Second Hearing of the Parliament. No matter what happens in the political life cycle of our country, budget is the key document of a country and applies to everyone and everything. Hence, we talked about the Draft State Budget for 2020. There were certain questions, especially from majoritarian MPs. We responded to them and clarified the content as well as structure of the budget. We spoke solely about the budget for several reasons. It is the key document of the country" noted the Prime Minister of Georgia.

Head of Government of Georgia stressed the significance of the proportional election system, which is believed to quantitatively change the political culture in the country.

"Proportional election system is a step made forward towards democratization. It is a decision taken by us and we wanted to materialize it. I wish to stress that this promise will be delivered and it is promulgated in our Constitution. We should not forget that discussion was about 2020, though we should also remember that proportional system will exist in the country from 2024, as indicated in the Constitution" added the Prime Minister of Georgia.

Also, Head of Government of Georgia responded to the question of a journalist on the current protest rally.

"Freedom of speech and expression is provided to anyone in this country. Thus, whatever happens, the state will protect this right through police" concluded the Prime Minister of Georgia.
