Prime Minister of Georgia Appoints Mikheil Daushvili as Business Ombudsman Print Version

Mikheil Daushvili has been appointed as a Business Ombudsman of Georgia. Newly appointed official was presented by Giorgi Gakharia, Prime Minister of Georgia at the Executive Government Meeting today.

"We have always been saying and will state it again - strong business in Georgia is the most important aspect of our greatest economic challenges, which should help us in creating additional jobs, overcome the social hardship that still prevails in our country. Therefore, everyone should understand that support of businesses wherever the law allows will be the main task of Mikheil and I am confident that he will deliver upon it with dignity. In addition, I wish to promise to each businessman and representative of our private sector - large, medium or small - that every problematic issue that will be shared with Mikheil Daushvili will reach the Office of Prime Minister within a matter of several minutes. Hence, effective cooperation with executive authority and Office of the Business Ombudsman is very important. Colleagues, I wish to urge you to actively cooperate through your line ministries with the Office of the Business Ombudsman" stated the Prime Minister of Georgia.

Prior to his appointment to the new position, Mikheil Daushvili managed the Information Analytics Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, while being Deputy Director of the same unit and Deputy Head of Administration prior to that.

Mikheil Daushvili, LLM served as a First Deputy Chairman of National Agency of Public Property, Head of Parliament Liaison Unit of the Legal Department at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, as well as a Legal Adviser at the Office of the Economic Council of Georgia at various times.

Mikheil Daushvili worked in the private and non-government sectors in 2010-2015. Since 2015 he was a Guest Lecturer at public and private universities.

Since 2013 Mikheil Daushvili has been a Board Member at the Georgian Young Lawyers Association (GYLA). He has participated in various international and local conferences.
