Mikheil Chkhenkeli will succeed in expeditiously continuing the successful reform at the Ministry of Education, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia stated at today's Government meeting in relation to Mikheil Chkhenkeli's return to the Cabinet of Ministers.
According to the Head of Government, Mikheil Chkhenkeli was engaged in every phase of both preparing and implementing the systemic educational reform, and he is well aware of the developments in the Ministry of Education over the past few years.
"I emphasize that, in the context of the systemic educational reform, Mr. Chkhenkeli was involved at every stage of preparing and implementing this reform, and he knows well what has been happening in the Ministry of Education, how this reform was developed, and how it was implemented. That is very important to us, and that is why, given his many merits, Mikheil Chkhenkeli will be expeditious in continuing the successful reforms at the Ministry of Education," Giorgi Gakharia stated.
The Prime Minister singled out the importance of vocational education, and instructed the Minister of Education to pay special attention to this direction.
"Importantly, I am instructing Mr. Chkhenkeli to pay special attention to vocational education, our major challenge today, so that we, in the next few years, may be able to eliminate the imbalance in the labor market.
