Mikheil Batiashvili has resigned from the Office of Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport based on a resignation letter for personal reasons, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia stated during today's Cabinet meeting.

The Prime Minister thanked Mikheil Batiashvili for his work.

"We must thank Mikheil Batiashvili for his work, for launching a far-reaching systemic reform of the system of education, and for the achievements we have had in the past few years in the fields of sports and culture.
We agree on the principle of prioritizing jobs, education, and security as the most important issues for our country. We will pay even greater attention to these three directions, especially to the systemic reform of education which requires faster, more effective development. And I am confident that the team and leaders of the Ministry of Education will continue effective work in this direction," Giorgi Gakharia said.
