Successful reforms of Georgia implemented in multiple directions were among the key topics of discussion at a meeting held by and between Giorgi Gakharia, Prime Minister of Georgia and Moon Hee-sang, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea today.

Discussions at the meeting held within the Government Administration Building touched upon the cooperation between the Republic of Korea and Georgia. It was noted that diplomatic relations between the two countries have existed for almost 30 years and cooperation has been advancing year after year both in political and economic dimensions, along with people-to-people relations.

Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea congratulated Giorgi Gakharia with his appointment to the position of the Prime Minister of Georgia and expressed hopes that under his leadership Georgia will develop further for the benefit and prosperity of the Georgian people.

Visiting dignitary underlined the increasing number of tourists from the Republic of Korea to Georgia and expressed optimism that this indicator will further grow in future. As noted by the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, it is gratifying that keen interest is expressed in his country towards Georgia.

Focus was made at the meeting on the cooperation existing between the two countries in the economic dimension, which is manifested in the significant investment projects implemented by the Republic of Korea in Georgia. As noted by the visiting dignitary, Government of Georgia carries out substantial infrastructure projects and Korean companies are eager to get engaged in them.

Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea reaffirmed the host dignitary in the solid support towards territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia, thereby stressing that the Republic of Korea is concerned about the current state of affairs in the occupied territories of Georgia in terms of human rights and humanitarian conditions. Prime Minister of Georgia expressed gratitude to the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea for supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia.
