"It is great honor for me to see faces of truly glorious and praiseworthy people of our country here; people who have been shaping the history of this country over the past 30 years" said Giorgi Gakharia, Prime Minister of Georgia to the veterans of war today.

Head of Government of Georgia met Veterans of War at the State Service of Veteran Affairs today to congratulate with a Veterans Day.

"We have been celebrating this day fifth year in a row and a lot needs to be done indeed, but before we talk about specific issues and actual work, let us express our sorrow towards the loss of heroes that are no longer with us. I am absolutely frank and sincere with you in saying that each of us should conceptualize that we are the people that have been shaping the history of this country and future generations should continue building it further with memories of such people. Nothing will come out if we forget our origin, our traditions and cultural identity. Irrespective of the fact that a lot is being done today, we all understand it well that it is not enough. Unfortunately, we are in a rather challenging economic condition and we need to tell the truth to each other - we live in a poor country. However, it does not mean that we should not target high. I pledge that we will achieve this goal by all means. We have gathered here today to pay respect to the memory of those who are no longer with us. I see faces of glorious and praiseworthy people in the history of our country and the only thing we should pledge to each other is to do our best to make sure that no war gets ever waged in this country again, to advance and progress through our dedicated work, get united and wholesome. It should be our prime goal. It should be shared by every Georgian and primarily in the memory of whose, who are no longer with us today. I wish to congratulate a Veterans Day to their spouses, parents and children, hereby pledging that Government will do its best to achieve what they sacrificed lives for; weather it happens today, tomorrow or any other day, but that day will come and we should all celebrate it" noted the Prime Minister of Georgia.

Meeting of the Head of Government of Georgia with war survivors held on the Veterans Day was also attended by Irakli Garibashvili, Minister of Defense of Georgia and Kakha Kaladze, Mayor of Tbilisi.
