Analysis confirms, and the National Bank's measures last week testify to healthy economic processes, Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze told the press in response to a question about the GEL exchange rate.
According to the Head of Government, given the circumstances, the National Bank has every means and mechanism to take decisive steps.

"The National Bank is an independent structure, and it is up to the bank to make decisions. But last week's events have reaffirmed that the ongoing economic developments are healthy, and that expectations, including of GEL devaluation, have been exaggerated, which is why we have excess depreciation of the GEL. The National Bank has every mechanism to take decisive steps," the Prime Minister said.
