First Pilot Post-Secondary Preparation Program for Youth from the Occupied Territories Launches in 2019 Print Version

The program has is implemented under A Step to a Better Future peace initiative, on the initiative of the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, with support from the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport.

As Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze stated during the briefing before today's government meeting, the post-secondary preparation program seeks to promote higher education among young people, and to support their career and personal advancement.
142 entrants from the occupied Regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali are engaged in the program, of whom 139 took tests, and almost all passed. Under the program, they will continue their education by enrolling in courses in schools of higher education of their liking, without passing national exams.
