Prime Minister Visits Zugdidi Botanic Garden Rehabilitation Site Print Version

Today, the Prime Minister of Georgia familiarized himself with the rehabilitation of the Zugdidi Botanic Garden. The Head of Government was provided with information on the implementation of the project and pointed out that, after the completion of work, the Zugdidi Botanic Garden will become one of the key destinations.

The rehabilitation of the Zugdidi Botanic Garden is implemented by the Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, in cooperation with the Zugdidi Municipality and the Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation. The project seeks to rehabilitate the buildings in the garden's territory, and to install water supply systems, the existing artificial lake's water supply and headworks, also to put in place pedestrian trails.

The rehabilitation of the Zugdidi Botanic Garden is carried out based on the project documentation developed by the Georgian Museums Association and co-financed by the Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation and Cartu Foundation.
The rehabilitation work will be finalized this coming summer.
