MINISTRY OF ECONOMY TO OPERATE WITH ONE-STOP-SHOP PRINCIPLE THROUGH A DEPUTY MINISTER RESPONSIBLE FOR INVESTOR RELATIONS Print Version

2019-05-10

Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia will have an additional position of a Deputy Minister to interact with investors. All new Deputy Ministers will be approved by the Prime Minister of Georgia at the Executive Government Meeting today.

As noted by the Head of Government of Georgia at a regular press briefing held prior to the Executive Government Meeting today, Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia will interact with investors through a One-Stop-Shop principle, while the designated Deputy Minister will be responsible for investor relations not only before the actual investment, but all the way after it.

"We have been working hard for several months to reach this goal. It is a significant adjustment indeed as the designated Deputy Minister will also be responsible for the coordination with other institutions. Investors deal with not only Ministry of Economy, but other government agencies and public institutions. Naturally, we will adjust this practice and will introduce a One-Stop-Shop service delivery principle, whereby the Ministry of Economy will be solely responsible for the investor relations. In addition, significant focus will be made on the free trade regime with EU and a list of currently or potentially priority goods and services that we intend to focus on to further increase the trade volumes with EU" stated the Prime Minister of Georgia.
