The Government of Georgia has launched an educational program for the young people living in the country's occupied territories. This issue is under discussion at today's Government meeting.

According to Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze, 142 university entrants from the occupied Regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali will enjoy this program this year. They will be prepared at the Tbilisi State University and Zugdidi Shota Meskhia State Teaching University, the Head of Government explained.

"Yesterday, we launched a pilot program that will prove very successful, I am convinced. I would like to emphasize that we will fully finance the education of young people, including accommodation. I would like to thank the young students and their teachers. Every teacher educating our future generations in the occupied territories is a true hero," Mamuka Bakhtadze stated.

According to the Head of Government, this program is part of A Step to a Better Future peace initiative.
