"Rating of Georgia has been upgraded by Standard&Poor's and it once again validates the right priorities in the Economic Policy of the country" stated Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia at a regular press briefing held prior to the Executive Government Meeting today.

As noted by the Head of Government of Georgia, it is particularly gratifying on the background of international institutions referring to economic problems in the region, while Georgia is perceived as the only positive example in this context.

"None of the upgrades in ratings would mean anything to me if they do not lead to tengible results. This one will, as it means more investments, more employment, more concessional funding and credit resources" added the Prime Minister of Georgia.

According to the Head of Government of Georgia, this is the second case within the last month when an international rating agency gives positive assessment to Georgia and its performance.

International rating agency Sttandard&Poor's (S&P) has upgraded the sovereign outlook of

Georgia from stable to positive, while affirming it at BB-.
