Established in 2014, the Human Rights Council primarily seeks to develop and implement the Georgian Government's unified human rights policy. In addition, the council coordinates and monitors the implementation of the Government's Human Rights Action Plan. Chaired by the Prime Minister, the council brings together state institutions alongside representatives of Georgia's Public Defender, legislative and judiciary branches, NGOs and international organizations.
