PRIME MINISTER OF GEORGIA MEETS EU SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE FOR SOUTH CAUCASUS AND CRISIS IN GEORGIA Print Version

Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia met Toivo Klaar, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia today.

Significance of Geneva International Discussions (GID) was discussed at the meeting, along with the prevention of incidents and the need of finding effective use and strengthening of response measures.

Current stance on human rights, security and humanitarian conditions in the occupied territories of Georgia were discussed. Significance of restored relations with individuals living in the conflict zones was underlined.

Discussions referred to the Peace Initiative of the Government of Georgia, branded as a Step towards a Better Future, which aims to restore trust between the communities divided by the occupation line and peaceful regulation of the conflict. Namely, three directions were discussed: education, healthcare and facilitation of small business. It was noted that implementation of individual projects towards this end will stimulate the restoration of interaction between people.
