One of the largest marine shipping companies - Stena Rederi - got interested in forwarding cargo from Georgia to Europe and Asia. It was mentioned by Carl Hagman, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Stena Rederi at the meeting with Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia.

Marine transportation potential of Georgia was focused upon at the meeting and it was noted that its development will provide a great incentive to the largest operator of a ferry line transportation of cargo from Georgia to Europe and Asia.

In the opinion of Stena Rederi CEO, Georgia has a great potential of marine transportation and a very suitable geographic position.

"I think that Georgia has a lot of interesting potential to develop in the Black Sea. I come from a shipping company and we have been discussing how we create networks of transportation in the Black Sea. Georgia is geographically very well suited. I think Georgia has excellent governance" noted Carl Hagman, Stena Rederi CEO after his meeting with the Head of Government of Georgia in Davos. Giorgi Kobulia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development took part in the meeting.

Stena Rederi is engaged in international ferry line transportation, drilling rigs and recycling with an annual revenues of around 1.5 BLN USD and 160 000 employees.
