Executive Government Meeting, led by Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia was held today at the Government Administration. Cabinet of Ministers discussed 26 items listed in the agenda of the day.

Government approved amendments to the state program titled as Produce in Georgia, which aims to support small and medium enterprises (SME). Eligibility criteria have been adjusted in line with the proposed amendments. Thus, grant financing competition will accept bids not only from entrepreneurs, who have never benefited from it before, but also those who have already been grantees and used the state program to develop their SME. To get admitted, bidders need to have a viable enterprise. They need to submit their proposal related to the extension/refurbishment of already grant-financed micro and small entrepreneurship under the state program of Produce in Georgia. Different approach will apply to the co-participation parameters. Share of the bidding program beneficiary or a group of beneficiaries will be no less than 50% of co-participation, while the new bidders may contribute no less than only 20% of the grant financing. Also, threshold of financial support is increased and instead of 15 000 GEL, successful bidders will get 20 000 GEL.

In addition, Government of Georgia endorsed a tuition grant for Bachelor's Degree students for 2018-2019. State Budget earmarking for program funding of students will be 12 723 750 GEL, while tuition grants will total 12 600 000 GEL. Overall, 25 323 750 GEL will be spent towards this end. Also, tuition grant has been endorsed for Master's Degree students in the total amount of 2 250 000 GEL. Government Resolution also includes funding for 60 credits of training of teachers in the overall volume of 1 498 500 GEL.
