PRIME MINISTER OF GEORGIA MEETS MANAGING DIRECTOR OF EBRD IN TBILISI Print Version

Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia met Matteo Patrone, Managing Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for Eastern Europe and the Caucasus.

Discussions at the meeting were related to the projects of strategic importance, which are implemented in Georgia with the engagement of EBRD. Apart from being a financial partner of Georgia, EBRD has also been supporting and facilitating the right economic policy-making in the country.

Construction of Anaklia Deep Sea Port was also discussed at the meeting, underlining the strategic importance of the project and engagement of the Government of Georgia (GOG) in the referred initiative. It was noted that Anaklia Deep Sea Port is significant not only for Georgia, but for the entire region. It is expected to acquire a geo-political significance for the entire continent.

Approaching establishment of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Arbitration in Georgia was also referred, along with its importance for the attraction of foreign investments to the country.

Meeting held at the Government Administration was attended by Bruno Balvanera, Director of EBRD in South Caucasus and Ivane Matchavariani, Minister of Finance of Georgia.
