"I wish to state with my full responsibility that e-residency practice gives unique opportunity to Georgia to get shaped into a Financial Hub of the entire region" noted Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia during his meeting with members of the Business Association of Georgia (BAG) today.

According to the Head of the Government of Georgia, this goal will be achieved if cooperation and coordination between the public and private sectors of the country will be kept at a high level.

Prime Minister of Georgia spoke in detail about the new initiative with BAG members. He noted that citizens of 34 countries will be able to incorporate businesses in Georgia online and open bank accounts also online from January 1, 2019. Their physical presence upon registration of business will no longer be required.

"This is indeed a unique initiative, which will be associated with quite significant challenges and investments during introduction and management, though we have taken all that into account" added the Prime Minister of Georgia.

According to him, several similar initiatives of the same scale and magnitude will be presented to businesses by the end of the year.

"You are aware of my approach and attitude that we never make changes to economic policy without prior consultations with businesses. Respectively, this approach will be maintained in view of any other initiatives" concluded the Prime Minister of Georgia.
