Extremely important visit has been held in the USA, where we had a very open, subject-matter discussions with our American friends and colleagues on literally every issue covered by the bilateral Strategic Partnership Agenda. Monday was marked with an opening of a Plenary Session of the Joint Commission of Strategic Partnership together with the Secretary of State. We heard very clear, unambiguous messages from Mike Pompeo. The messages vividly supporting Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty, also our accession to NATO, are vital, especially when we approach the July Summit of NATO in Brussels.
We also had very diverse, detailed discussion with Wess Mitchell, Assistant Secretary of State. We talked about the Strategic Partnership Agenda and touched upon the opportunities of free trade with US and essential support solicited for approaching the US Trade Representative for the discussion of this specific issue.
We had series of key-note meetings at the Congress and Senate. Today we are celebrating 100 Year Anniversary since the establishment of the First Georgian Republic together with our American friends at the US Institute of Peace.
Extremely important meeting was held with Vice President Pence, with whom we discussed absolutely every issue. We talked about the regional security issues, priority topics for US, aspects of our cooperation. We are the closest partner of US in our region and we heard the most supportive messages from Vice President Pence, which are of greatest - and I would say - of vital importance for us. Of course, this is also a huge responsibility on Georgia to take great strides in this partnership. Georgian authorities pledge and absolutely stand ready for this.
US visit was utterly important and fruitful with specific messages and promises. We greatly hope that this visit will have a very significant continuation in future towards deepening our bilateral strategic partnership. This partnership will be added with a lot of new dimensions in future, which is extremely important to make it a truly wide-scale bilateral partnership with a full spectrum.
USA is indeed the closest strategic support partner of Georgia in today's world.
