"Georgia stands high on our daily agenda at the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives at the US Congress" noted Ed Royce, Committee Chairman at the meeting held with Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia today.

Congressman Royce noted that Georgia may count on him being an ally.

Discussions at the meeting were related to the upcoming Summit of the North Atlantic Treaty Alliance (NATO) and importance of asserting the progress achieved by Georgia. It was noted that a number of supporting statements were made in favor of Georgia today at the Foreign Affairs Committee, which held a hearing of the US Secretary of State.

Mike Pompeo spoke about the US-Georgia Strategic Partnership Commission meeting held at the US Department of State with Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia. He noted that "US is working on Georgia's accession to NATO".

Meeting of the Prime Minister of Georgia and Congressmen was also focused on the opportunities offered by bilateral relations of US and Georgia for the benefit of the citizens of Georgia, including those of intensified cooperation in the fields of trade and economy".

Meeting was also attended by Eliot Engel, Co-Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee. Georgian delegation was composed of Mikheil Janelidze, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; David Bakradze, Ambassador of Georgia to USA and Tedo Japaridze, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs.
