Georgian Prime Minister to Participate in GUAM Summit Print Version

Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili will participate in the June 21 GUAM Summit hosted by Moldova, the organization's chair state. During today's meeting, Prime Minister Pavel Filip of the Republic of Moldova personally invited his Georgian counterpart to participate in the meeting in Chisinau bringing together the Prime Ministers of the GUAM member states.

The Prime Minister of Georgia, on behalf of the Government, confirmed Georgia's readiness to cooperate actively throughout Moldova's chairmanship in order to promote the development of projects under the GUAM.

The parties also discussed bilateral relations, European integration, and reforms in both countries. Special emphasis was placed on the common Western foreign-policy aspirations shared by Georgia and Moldova alike, also on the successful cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats.

During the meeting, attention was also paid to prospects of further developing Georgia-Moldova economic ties. In this context, the importance of further intensifying the work of the two countries' Intergovernmental Economic Commission was also emphasized.

The meeting of the Prime Ministers was held under the 54th Security Conference in Munich.
