A Government meeting, chaired by Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili, was held today at the Administration of the Government, with the Cabinet discussing 34 issues on the agenda.

Two more factories will open under the Produce in Georgia state program.

To launch a non-noble metal producing factory in Kutaisi, the state will allocate land to the investor who will additionally enjoy every mechanism under the program, including subsidized loans and bank loan cosigning.

Some 1,360,000 GEL will be invested and 60 people will be employed at different stages of the project.

A textile production plant will be established in Tbilisi, with 4,000,000 GEL in investments and 30 people employed at the initial stage.

By the decision of the Government, as part of the governance reform, a government town will be built to house almost every ministry. To this end, work will commence on the masterplan to develop state-owned land in the Krtzanisi District.

Today, the Government also approved a decree on the establishment of the Agency for the Development of the Anaklia Deep Sea Port LEPL. This agency will coordinate the development project for the Anaklia Deep Sea Port and monitor the implementation of the October 3, 2016 BOT agreement between the Government of Georgia and the Anaklia Development Consortium LLC. The agency's functions will be defined and approved, and its chief executive officer appointed, within a month.

By the decision of the Government, construction planning for the 42-km four-lane Khevi-Ubisa-Shorapani-Argveti highway section is about to begin on the Rikoti Pass, including almost 90 bridges and 40 tunnels. At today's meeting, the Cabinet approved the relevant construction planning agreement. This far-reaching, 800 million USD infrastructural project will be implemented under the Spatial Planning component, the largest on the Georgian Government's four-point reform agenda.
