At today's Government meeting, chaired by Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili at the Administration of the Government, the Cabinet discussed 37 issues on the agenda.
The Government of Georgia approved the bill targeting domestic violence. The legislative amendments aim at protection of the rights of women and harmonization of Georgian legislation with Istanbul Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence. The draft was prepared by the Ministry of Justice and it targets around 20 legislative acts. Respective provisions aim at setting up effective measures against violence against women, men and children, protection of the rights of women and prevention of crimes against women. The bill also sets forth a set of innovative approaches in terms of protection and rehabilitation of the victims of violence.

Two more ventures will be formed within the frames of "Produce in Georgia". 30 people will be employed at the enterprise manufacturing construction materials located in Didi Lilo. Enterprise is established within the framework of "Produce in Georgia". "Nostar, ltd" will be transferred a land plot and buildings located in Didi Lilo at a symbolic price of 1 GEL. 3 508 920 GEL is intended to be invested in the construction of the enterprise.
The second venture that aims at production of glass and glass products will be constructed by the "Neo Glass" on the land plot transferred by the Government at a symbolic price of 1 GEL. The venture will be operating in Tbilisi and 11 people will be employed during the manufacturing process. Pursuant to the information provided by the company, the enterprise will produce a large variety of 10 000 sq. m. of safe and toughened glass products annually. Minimum 905 400 GEL is to be invested in the project.

Pursuant to the decision of the Government, additional 149 families of the IDPs will be gifted apartments in Tbilisi, Poti, Kutaisi and Tskaltubo. In line with the Government Decrees, 13 749 IDP families have been granted houses since October 2012 and the process will continue.
The Cabinet also approved allocation of 20 million GEL from the assignations of the Ministry of Energy to launch the works necessary for provision of permanent natural gas supply to 34 more villages. This implies that natural gas will be additionally available to over 11 000 families. 241 million GEL have already been allocated for the said purpose and over 160,000 subscribers have received permanent natural gas supply during the last four years.
