Key directions in Georgia-Germany defense cooperation and Georgia's ongoing reforms were discussed at today's meeting held at the Administration of Government between Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili and Germany's Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen.

The German Defense Minister expressed deep appreciation for Georgia's contribution to the Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan and emphasized the high professionalism and exceptional preparedness of the Georgian fighters. She commended the tremendous role of Georgia's armed forces and the special importance of their efforts to the coalition as a whole.

Equally positive is Ursula von der Leyen's assessment of the military reforms underway in the Georgia. During the meeting, special emphasis was placed on the importance of enhancing Germany's engagement in defense and other areas.

The dialogue also involved Georgia's ongoing political and economic reforms and the importance of sharing Germany's experience in logistics.

The Prime Minister also spoke about the challenges facing the region and the country in particular, pointing out the consistency of the Georgian Government in implementing all reforms promoting the country's stable development.
