Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili held a meeting with Chair of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy.

The parties underlined the positive dynamics in the bilateral relations across the wide range of areas and indicated that the partnership will reach its full potential.

Particular attention was paid to the regional issues in the context of developing transport corridors, transit destinations as well as trade and economic connections. The positive trend in tourism industry was also outlined. The Prime Minister of Georgia welcomed the ever-growing interest of Ukrainian tourists in Georgia.

The parties also highlighted the intensive dynamics of high-level meetings aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation. It was noted that President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko intends to pay visit to Georgia in the near future.

One of the main topics discussed was the European aspirations of both countries. In this regard the sides discussed the possibility of establishing tripartite cooperation platform with the involvement of Moldova. They also outlined the need for close cooperation within the framework of high-level forums and international organizations. Giorgi Kvirikashvili congratulated Andriy Parubiy on the recent decision that grants the Ukrainian citizens the right to travel visa-free in Schengen zone.

The sides reaffirmed their mutual support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity within the internationally recognized borders.

Ukrainian side also indicated that the cooperation with the Parliament of Georgia is highly productive and effective.
