Georgian Prime Minister attended a festive reception celebrating Azerbaijan's Republic Day and wished the Azerbaijani people a happy holiday.

In his speech, the Prime Minister spoke of the friendly relations and partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan. According to Kvirikashvili, since the restoration of independence in 1991, Azerbaijan and Georgia have walked hand in hand to face and overcome the challenges and hardships on their way to full-fledged modern democratic statehood.

"In those years, notwithstanding some hostile political developments, Azerbaijan and Georgia embarked upon the implementation of the strategic projects, which would help establish both nations of the global map-the Pipelines connecting Asia and Europe, East and West. Initially many would be skeptical about the viability and sustainability of those projects, but thanks to the determination of our political leaders we made it happen. And Haydar Alyev was one of the pillars upon which the bold enterprise rested, together with the leaders of Georgia, Turkey and the USA," the Prime Minister stated.
According to Giorgi Kvirikashvili, today Georgia and Azerbaijan are trying to create new opportunities to connect the East and the West, which will bring prosperity to the region.

The festive reception on behalf of Azerbaijan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Georgia was attended by members of Georgia's executive and legislative, as well as diplomats and representatives of the public.
