The Georgian prime Minister's state visit to Bucharest continues. Tody Giorgi Kvirikashvili visited the Parliament of Romania and held a meeting with President Călin Popescu-Tăriceanu of the Romanian Senate.

The parties underlined the importance of Georgia-Romania cooperation advancing to a new level of strategic relations, also emphasizing the joint declaration reflecting strategic cooperation priorities and adopted after the negotiations between the Prime Ministers of the two countries.

Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic integration, and the country's success on this path, was also discussed during the meeting. Călin Popescu-Tăriceanu congratulated Giorgi Kvirikashvili on the enactment of visa waiver for Georgian citizens traveling to the EU/Schengen Area and referred to it as a recognition of Georgia's efforts. The Prime minister of Georgia thanked the President of the Senate for Romania's unwavering support of Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

"Georgia is an example of effectively conducting political and economic reforms, and I am very happy. Romania is one of the countries that has supported Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations," Călin Popescu-Tăriceanu stated during the meeting.

Special emphasis was placed on the importance of developing cooperation between the two countries' legislative bodies and the need to facilitate high-level meetings.

According to the President of the Romanian Senate, his country is well aware of the challenges facing Georgia, and Romania is committed to intensify its assistance in this direction. The Prime Minister of Georgia emphasized Romania's role in the EUMM, which is the main guarantor of security and stability in Georgia.

After the meeting, the Prime Minister of Georgia acknowledged his visit and expressed his impressions in the guest book.
