Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili held a meeting today with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin.

The parties discussed Georgia-Ukraine partnership and emphasized the need to deepen sectoral cooperation. Special emphasis was placed on the potential in the fields of trade, economy, energy, agriculture, culture, and infrastructure.

It was pointed out at the meeting that Georgia and Ukraine share the foreign policy priority of European and Euro-Atlantic integration. The parties discussed the success achieved on this path. The conversation also involved the adoption of Schengen Area visa waiver for Georgian citizens and the importance of the European Parliament's decision on Ukraine.

The parties expressed commitment to active cooperation in experience sharing.

The parties also stressed the importance of the declaration on the 25th anniversary of the renewal of diplomatic relations between Georgia and Ukraine. This document describes the successful political, defense, economic, humanitarian, legal, and other fields of cooperation between Georgia and Ukraine achieved since the restoration of independence of the two countries.

The parties discussed regional challenges and the situation in the occupied territories of Georgia and Ukraine.

The meeting at the Administration of the Georgian Government was attended by Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze, the Prime Minister's Foreign Advisor Tedo Japaridze, and Mikheil Ukleba, Georgia's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ukraine.
