The Cabinet session was held today at the Administration of the Government under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili. The Cabinet discussed 28 issues placed on the agenda.
Pursuant to the Government's decision houses will be provided to the additional 107 IDP families free of change - relevant draft Ordinance was approved by the Cabinet of the Ministers today.
Since 2012, around 12 600 IDP families have been provided with accommodation.
The Cabinet of Ministers approved draft amendments to the Imprisonment Code and the relevant laws drafted by the Ministry of Corrections and Legal Assistance. According to the amendments, for the first time in Georgia the inmates will be given an opportunity of obtaining a higher education; new type of sentence is introduced for the adult inmates - house arrest; terms of disciplinary imprisonment are decreasing, the mechanism of review of the form of sanction of an inmate who is sentenced to a life imprisonment are being amended, etc.
Two more enterprises will be established within the frames of "Produce in Georgia". A venture manufacturing mineral products will be established in the village of Kvemo Arkvani of Bolnisi municipality. The state will grant 10 650 sq.m of the land plot to the company at a symbolic price. The company will employ around 10 persons.
Textile producing entity will be established in Poti and company will invest 9 136 000 GEL. 1000 persons will be employed by the enterprise.
Another company that has already established a poultry complex within the frames of the "Produce in Georgia" - it will be granted 1.4 ha land plot in the village of Sartichala of Gardabani municipality for the purpose of expanding.
