Prime Minister of Georgia conducted a meeting with the Minister of Food, Agriculture and Livestock Faruk Çelik.

Minister of Agriculture of Turkey thanked Giorgi Kvirikashvili for the support demonstrated to Turkey by the Government and people of Georgia during the challenging times.

Parties paid particular attention to cooperation in trade, economic and agricultural areas. At the meeting it was indicated that Turkey is one of the most important trade partners of Georgia, prospects of increasing of Georgian exports to Turkey were highlighted.

Sides to the meeting also addressed successful bilateral partnership that, according to the parties, became even more intense throughout the recent years. It was hoped that Georgian-Turkish Business Forum taking place in Tbilisi would further reinforce development of economic relations.
"I am pleased by the fact that you are in Georgia and are attending Georgian-Turkish Business Forum. There is a great cooperation potential between our respective countries and we will spare no effort to fully utilize it," - Prime Minister noted.

Agricultural potential of Georgia as well as importance of sharing practice of Turkey in this area was discussed. Prime Minister of Georgia outlined significance of the Agreement on Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area that represents a tool of economic integration in the EU space. According to the Georgian side, the process of approximation and harmonization to the EU is an additional chance of developing trade relations with other markets.

Conversation also touched upon regional developments and importance of region's safe and peaceful development was stressed.

The Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitry Kumsishvili as well as Minister of Agriculture of Georgia Otar Danelia attended meeting at the Administration of Government of Georgia.
