Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili conducted a meeting with the US Congressman and the Chairman of the US Congress Small Business Committee Steve Chabot.
Dynamic of the bilateral political and economic relationship was discussed during the meeting. Head of the Government discussed with the Congressman the reforms that are ongoing and planned in Georgia.
Giorgi Kvirikashvili indicated importance of Georgia in the "Silk Road" project According to him, implementation of new infrastructural, transportation and trade projects increases role of Georgia as of the regional hub.
During the meeting the head of the Government emphasized that Georgia is devoted to its European and Euro-Atlantic path and the country enjoys uninterrupted progress in this view.

On his part, Congressman Chabot asserted support of the US Government to Georgia. He outlined that the country is exceptional and exemplary in number of areas. In this context the Congressman addressed current positive investment environment and indicated that the country has a great potential in terms of attracting investment.
Parliamentary elections scheduled this October were also discussed during the meeting. Pursuant to the Prime Minister, the Government ensures pluralistic pre-election environment and holding of democratic elections. Giorgi Kvirikashvili and Steve Chabot discussed regional security aspects. Congressman indicated that the policy adopted by the Government of Georgia and Prime Minister's future plans will have positive effect on the development of the country.
