Process of European integration, Georgia-Russian relations, the role of the country in the region, importance of strategic cooperation with Germany, Georgian Government's reform plan - these were the subjects discussed by the Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili in his public speech held at the Friedrich Ebert" Foundation.

The agenda of European and Euro-Atlantic integration was presented by the Prime Minister of Georgia to German Politics, Experts and Journalists, and he stressed the importance of Visa Liberalization with the European Union.

"Georgian choice to follow the path of European and Euro-Atlantic integration is irreversible. Georgian history in its essence is European as well as Georgian future. According to the latest survey conducted by the US National Democratic Institute, more than 80 percent of Georgian population support this vision and path chosen by us. In this year when we are celebrating 25 years anniversary of regaining independence, we are proud of our achievements. On the other hand we acknowledge, that there is still a lot of work ahead"- was stated by Giorgi Kvirikashvili.

According to the Prime Minister Georgian Government conducted democratic reforms, the process of depoliticizing police is ongoing, the office of prosecutor conducts investigation in accordance with high international standards and acts against criminals despite of their social status or political views.

In his speech the Prime Minister identified the steps taken for the protection of human rights as one of the important achievement of the Government of Georgia.

"In terms of previous government, there were gross human rights violations, which became one of the reasons, why in autumn of 2012 our people made a choice in favor of alternative. Accordingly there was a great expectation that human rights would not be only awarded but guaranteed as well through the new Government and its representatives. We declared discrimination based on skin color, cultural, national or religious belonging and sexual orientation as an outlaw; we laid the foundation to the state, where minorities are enjoying the right to maintain their culture, religion and language, as well as to leave is the safe environment and exercise all social, educational and professional opportunities," - was mentioned by the Prime Minister.

Giorgi Kvirikashvili spoke on future plans of the Government and presented 4 pillar reform plan to the representatives.

"First of all the plan provides for: reforms oriented on economic development, which includes reduction of tax burden; reform of education system which aims at the improvement of the level of education at schools and organization of higher education in a manner that would ensure balance between the demand and supply of specialists of particular fields; development of infrastructure services, in order to create east-west and north-south corridors. We intend to use potential of Georgia as of Silk Road country's connecting Europe and Asia, as well as enormous opportunities in the area of truism; open governance - among other issues we plan to ensure privet sector's participation in legislative process and further improvement and modernization of public services" - clarified Giorgi Kvirikashvili.

He appreciated old Political Foundation of "Friedrich Ebert" for the invitation and expressed hopes that Germany will remain one of the strong and reliable supporter of Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
