2015-10-28

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili chaired a recent Economic Council session during which the government discussed several key economic developments and policy initiatives.

The Council accounted that the Excise Tax on fruit- and grape-based alcoholic beverages would be reduced to 6 GEL, instead of 9.2 GEL, per one liter. The new tax pricing goes into effect on January 1, 2016.

The Council also approved a civil responsibility project that required temporarily imported vehicles, which are registered in another country, to obtain insurance.
