Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili gave an interview to the Chinese television company CCTV, where he discussed the importance of the "New Silk Road" project and the Free Trade Agreement with China.
During the interview, Prime Minister noted that Georgia has a large-scale plan for renovation of the infrastructure. In case of its implementation, the competitiveness of the country will increase. Pursuant to him, initiative of the President of China "New Belt - New Road" offers new opportunities to countries engaged in it.
"Project "New Belt-New Road" is a crucial initiative to us, which offers new opportunities to the countries engaged in it. We consider recovery of economic route as a mean for unification of many roads, rather than initiative of a sole route. We mean competitiveness, contacts between individuals and modernization of infrastructure," - is said in the interview.
Giorgi Kvirikashvili considers that Georgia can become a center of trade and logistics and support trade between Europe and Asia.
"We consider that e-platform is an important space, where information concerning our projects may be placed to make it available for all investors, including Chinese businessmen, increases the awareness about all countries engaged in the Silk Road project," - Prime Minister notes.
In the interview to the Chinese television channel, Prime Minister also discussed the Free Trade Agreement between the states. Giorgi Kvirikashvili hopes that the agreement will increase interest of foreign investors.
