The Prime Minister of Georgian Irakli Garibashvili delivered a speech at the 69th session of the UN General Assembly.
The head of the government travelled to New York on September 21 with his wife.
On September 22 Irakli Garibashvili delivered a speech at the special session of the General Assembly - "on Implementation Issues of International Conference Action Plan on Population and Development", he also attended the reception held on behalf of the President of Turkey.
Irakli Garibashvili, together with his wife, also attended the reception held on behalf of President Clinton and his wife.
On September 23 Irakli Garibashvili held a face-to-face meeting with the President of Latvia Andris Berzins and the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, also he delivered a speech at the Climate Summit, attended Plenary Session of Clinton's global initiative - Cities as Labs of Innovation/ Remarks by President Obama "Stand with Civil Society Agenda" and opened the first retrospective show of Georgian films in MoMa Museum. At the end of the day the Prime Minister of Georgia together with his wife attended the reception of the US President Barrack Obama and Michelle Obama, which was held in honor of heads of the delegations and their wives, participating in the 69th session of the UN General Assembly.
On September 24, Irakli Garibashvili attended the reception held by the Secretary General regarding opening of the 69th session of the General Assembly and opening of general debates of the session. The Prime Minister delivered a speech at the seventh annual global investment symposium organized by international economic alliance - "Invest in Georgia" and conference - "Open Governance Partnership".
At the end of the day Irakli Garibashvili attended the receptions held on behalf of European Council and European Commission and by the Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zaed Al Nahyan in honor of the UN Secretary General.
Within the visit the meetings were held with the Prime Minister of Kuwait, Jaber Al Mubarak Al Hamad Al Sabahi, Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Saud Al Paizal, the President of European Council Herman Van Rompuy, the President of Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Ruany, the Prime Minister of Canada Steven Harper, representatives of the Company AECOM.
On September 27, the head of the Government of Georgia laid a wreath on the memorial of victims of 11th September in New York. At the end of the visit, Irakli Garibashvili in informal environment hosted the Georgian students funded by the International Education Centre, studying in New York.
