"Our police officers are those who strengthen the Georgian state," Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili congratulated police forces today on the opening of a modern facility at 46 Peking Street, Tbilisi.

The head of government attended the festive opening ceremony together with Interior Minister Alexander Chikaidze.

Equipped with modern technology and devices, this four-story building was built in six months in line with the project submitted by the winning bidder. "Until today, police forces had to work in difficult circumstances, in an outdated building. We changed this approach. The concept of glass buildings has been changed with the active participation of the minister and his ministry. The safety of our country and citizens depends on the hard work of our police officers. As the head of government, I vouch to stand by them," the Prime Minister stated and wished police forces success in their work in the new building.

The building will house several agencies. These are the Units of the Main Bureau of the Tbilisi Police, the State Security Agency, and the Department of Security Police. The festive opening ceremony was attended by Tbilisi Mayor Davit Narmania and representatives of the diplomatic corps.
