Economic Team of the Government of Georgia Led by Maya Tskitishvili Meets Restaurant Business Executives Under Instructions of the Prime Minister of Georgia Print Version

Additional measures to be carried out to further curb the community transfer rate of COVID-19 and maintenance of the existing jobs within this process were among the key topics discussed by and between the Economic Team of the Government of Georgia and restaurant business executives today.

The Economic Team of the Government of Georgia led by Maya Tskitishvili, Deputy Prime Minister holds a series of intensive meetings with private sector representatives under the instructions of the Prime Minister of Georgia.

Deputy Prime Minister and Ministers of Economy and Finance received detailed information on the challenges faced in the period of the pandemic and discussed the precision-targeted restrictions that may be enforced to curb the community transfer rate of COVID-19.

Discussions were focused on the existing epidemic situation and it was underlined during the meeting that adherence to the rules within the sector is challenging due to the rising trend of the viral spread.

It was once again noted during the discussion of potential precision-targeted restrictions that may be enforced in addition to the existing ones that a total lockdown is not intended at this stage, as maintenance of existing jobs is one of the key priorities of the Government of Georgia.

Meeting was attended by Maya Tskitishvili, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia; Ivane Matchavariani, Minister of Finance of Georgia and Natia Turnava, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
