Open Contest Announced for One Vacant Position of GNCC Member Print Version

A Georgian National Communications Commission (GNCC) member approaches the end of tenure on January 24, 2020. In line with Article 9.5 of the Law of Georgia on Broadcasting, Government of Georgia is expected to issue a Resolution on holding an Open Contest 100 (hundred) days prior to the expiration of a term of service in the case of a GNCC Member.

Thus, Government Resolution N2164 issued on October 17, 2019 rules an Open Contest to be held for the vacant position of a GNCC Member. Anyone is entitled to apply or nominate a person for the vacant position of GNCC Member within 30 (thirty) days from the date of the vacancy announcement.

In line with the requirements promulgated in the legislation of Georgia, candidate for GNCC membership should be an individual of public recognition and credibility, who has a master's degree in economics, public administration, business administration, law, electronic communication and journalism or an academic degree equal to it with a work experience of no less than 10 (ten) years, including 3 (three) years at a managerial position.

Following documents shall be enclosed for registration as a candidate for GNCC membership:

a) Application of an interested individual or nomination made in writing, which is supplemented with a consent of the nominee;

b) One photo image of the candidate;

c) Resumè of the applicant or nominee;

d) Copy of a document evidencing the degree education (with respective qualification) of an applicant or a nominee;

e) Copy of the identification card issued to a citizen of Georgia applying or nominated for the position;

f) Document evidencing the work experience of no less than 10 (ten) years, out of which 3 (three) have been served at a managerial position;

g) Acknowledgement evidencing that the applicant or nominee consents to the terms and conditions of Conflict of Interest defined for GNCC Members in Article 11 of the Law of Georgia on Broadcasting;

h) Recommendation letters, if available.

Documents should be submitted through November 15, 2019 at the following address: Government Administration Building at 7, Pavle Ingorokva St., Tbilisi, Georgia. List of candidates and documents submitted will be posted on the official website of the Government of Georgia within 10 (ten) days from the deadline of application.
