Statement by Georgian PM Kvirikashvili on International Holocaust Remembrance Day Print Version

Tbilisi, 27 January 2016 - Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili made today the following statement to commemorate International Holocaust Remembrance Day:

"Today, Georgia stands with the international community to honour the memory of the innocent victims of the darkest hours of history, when the rest of the world failed to protect them from the cruellest barbarism. Even if we are not directly responsible for those horrors, we nevertheless have a responsibility to keep their memory alive. For the sake of our future generations, it is crucial to remember that peace, democracy and freedoms are fragile and must be protected by the institutions of the state, the international community, and every individual citizen."
