Culture Ministerial in Tbilisi - www.culture.gov.ge



A Press Conference will be held at the Ministry of Culture on June 26, at 12:00 regarding the first Eastern Partnership (Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan) Ministerial on Culture, which is organized by the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia and the European Commission.

Press conference will be attended by Minister of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia Guram Odisharia, EU Ambassador and Head of Delegation in Georgia Philip Dimitrov, the First Deputy Minister of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia Marine Mizandari.

Present high rank conference is an important stage for showing of the role of culture within the framework of Eastern Partnership and strengthening of regional cooperation. It will be a very important step towards sustainable development of Georgia for understanding of the role of culture and generally for making Georgia closer to EU.

The event ensures midterm evaluation of the Eastern Partnership Culture Program and will discuss future plans.

It is the first time of arranging Culture Ministerial within the framework of Eastern Partnership and the Eastern Partnership Countries and Andrulla Vasiliu, EU Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism, Sport, Media and Youth will visit the Ministerial Officially.

Following persons will participate in the first Culture Ministerial organized in the framework of the fourth platform of Eastern Partnership on June 28: Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili, Vice Prime Minister and the Minister of Science and Education of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili, Minister of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia Guram Odisharia, Ministers of Culture of the Eastern Partnership and EU member states: Minister of Culture of Armenia Hasmik Pogosyan, Minister of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan Abulfaz Garaev, Minister of Culture of Ukraine Leonid Novohatko, Minister of Culture of Lithuania Sharunas Birutis, Minister of Culture and National Heritage of Poland Bogdan Zdrojewski, Minister of Culture of Moldova Monica Babuts; Representatives of International Organizations: Director of Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe Yolanda Valle Neff, UNESCO; Head of EU Directorate of Democratic Governance Claudia Luciani, Representatives of European Commission, Diplomatic Missions, members of the Government of Georgia and members local and regional authority. Up to 20 states are involved in the conference.
