Expert Group in charge of the implementation of the Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence holds a meeting at Government Administration Print Version

Today, the Administration of the Government hosted a meeting of the Independent Expert Group (GREVIO) in charge of monitoring the implementation of the Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence. The meeting was attended by members of the Interagency Commission for Gender Equality and Violence against Women and Domestic Violence, also of various other institutions and the Parliament of Georgia.

Together with the group, the meeting discussed the outcomes of combatting violence against women and domestic violence, and the progress following the 2020 report by the GREVIO.

The monitoring group will hold thematic meetings with Georgia's state institutions, representatives of self-government, and the civil sector, also visiting the Gori shelter for victims of violence.

Based on this visit, the group will produce an assessment and monitoring report, also issuing recommendations, if need be. Then report will be published before the end of 2022.
